Anna, recorded as the child of Jacobus Van Cortlandt and Eva Philips, was baptized in the Reformed Dutch Church of New York on 28 February 1701. Witnesses were Brant Schuyler and Sophia Teller.[1]
Anna Van Cortland and John Chambers were married in the Reformed Dutch Church of New York on 26 March 1737.[2]
Ann's husband John Chambers of NY left a will dated 20 Jan 1764, probate 1 May, naming his wife as the daughter of Col. Jacobus Van Cortlandt, Corporation of Trinity Church. He names Augustus Van Cortland whom he brought up; John of brother in law Peter Jay; Mrs Eva (Van Cortlandt) White sister of aforesaid Augustus; her daughter Ann White; James Van Cortlandt and Frederick Van Cortlandt, brother of Augustus. Mentions Col Vincent Mathews, John Bartow of Westchester and Albert Moore. Land in Cheescock Patent, Orange Co. houses, lots in NYC. Wife sole Executor. [3]
